Troubleshooting

If your computer is having any problems after inserting the new BIOS chip, here are a few things to try:

Clear the CMOS

Clearing the CMOS should be done before turning the power on after installing a new or reflashed chip. The CMOS can be cleared using by using the jumper on the motherboard or by removing the battery.

To use the jumper method, turn off your computer and simply move the jumper from its current position to the next position on the pins (Example: If the jumper is on pins 1 and 2, move it to 2 and 3). Leave the jumper there for 30 seconds then put it back in its original position.

If you cannot find the jumper, remove the battery to clear the CMOS. Turn the computer off and remove the battery from the motherboard and short the battery terminals for 30 seconds.

Check Connections

Many motherboards require certain things to be plugged in to boot properly. Check the connections for the power, CPU fan, and system fans. Make sure everything is plugged in and connected properly.

Recycle The Power With The Button

A lot of motherboards need the power to be recycled a few times to boot up due to built in power surge protection. Using the button, turn the computer on, then push and hold it in until it turns off. If this is the culprit, it will boot the 2nd time it powers up.

Send Us Back The Chip For Reflashing

You may have selected the wrong BIOS for the chip, given us the wrong information, or forgot to clear the CMOS before powering on. You can send the chip back to us and we will reflash it for you once for free. After that each reflashing will cost $3 to cover shipping unless we did something wrong.

This reflashing offer is only valid for 30 days after your purchase.
